This teaches you how to
prevent Facebook from announcing your new friend connections when you're using an Android.
Steps
- 1Open Facebook. It’s the blue icon with a white “f” in the app drawer. You may also be able to find it on your home screen.
- Using this method will hide your friends list from everyone on Facebook, including your friends. They'll still be able to see mutual friends when they go to your profile, but they won’t see your other friends, nor will they be notified when you add new friends.
- 2Tap ☰. It’s in the white bar at the top-right corner of the screen.
- 3Scroll down and tap Settings. It’s the first option under the “Settings” header.
- 4Tap Account Settings.
- 5Tap Privacy.
- 6Tap Who can see your friends list?. It’s under the “Who can see my stuff?” header. A list of audiences (e.g. Friends, Public) will appear.
- 7Tap Only me. Now that your list of friends is private, none of your friends will notified when you’ve connected with someone new.
