How To Logout From Android Phone

This teaches you how to log out of your Google account on an Android smartphone or tablet. While you can't log out of your main Google account and continue to use your Android, you can remove additional Google accounts from your Android in order to stop receiving messages and notifications from the accounts. You can also sign out of your main Google account by factory resetting your Android or by using Find My Device.

 1
Using Settings

    1
Open your Android's Settings. Swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap the Settings

    • You may have to use two fingers to swipe down.
    • You can also tap the Settings app icon, which usually resembles a gear, in your Android's App Drawer.
    • Your Android must have at least one account logged in. If you don’t have another account, you’ll have to create one before using this method.

Using a Factory Reset

  1. 1
Understand when to use this method. If you want to sign out of the primary Google account you use on your Android, you'll have to perform a factory reset on the phone or tablet.
    • Factory resetting your Android will remove all data from it. You should back up your Android before factory resetting.
